The main goals of the EPG are to encourage, develop and promote basic and applied science concerning placenta physiology, pathology, therapeutics, and biotechnology in humans and animals in Europe.
The EPG organizes workshops, colloquia, and conferences at which scientific results and issues related to the field of placenta research are presented and discussed. In addition, the EPG is in charge of arranging the world IFPA congress every three years.
The EPG aims to particularly though not exclusively promote and support placental research in European countries. Moreover, the EPG strives to establish and improve special relationships with regional, national, as well as international societies or Federations interested in all fields of placenta research.
